My Teaching Style

  • My main focus in every style I teach is proper alignment and safety.  
  • I use descriptive cues to safely lead you through transitions & build strength in familiar postures, I love to include Yoga Props to add support and/or intensity.  
  • The practice of simple breathing exercises will teach your mind and body to remain calm even in intense situations, on and off your yoga mat. 
  • I will take into account your goals, fitness level, flexibility and all other factors to tailor a style just right for you, as you change and progress I will adapt.

Hatha Yoga

The most practiced yoga in the West and a great place to learn the basics of yoga poses. This slow-paced stretching class uses simple breathing techniques while holding poses to calm your body, your mind, increase concentration and will power.

Restorative Yoga

Blankets, blocks and straps are used to support you in yoga postures to open your body through passive stretching.  Traditional yoga poses are modified into a supine or seated variation to eliminate the need for your muscles to work, allowing your bones to be completely supported.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Every class will be a fresh mix of challenging yoga postures linked with creative transitions and exciting balancing postures.  Classes move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale, your breath sets the pace for movement.  The series of yoga asanas (postures) are linked together to create a smooth, flowing class that becomes a graceful and dance-like series of movements to increase stamina, endurance and mind-body awareness.

Power Yoga

Each session includes a wide variety of movements from yoga basics to advanced arm balancing postures to ensure a full body workout.  This fitness based, energetic yoga practice synchronizes your breath to your movement (Vinyasa Flow) and will aid in toning muscles and increase flexibility.  This vigorous workout will include creative core work , cardio and strength-building exercises as well as long holds in yoga postures.

Svaroopa Yoga

Known as "Bliss Yoga," a non-athletic yoga practice. Great for all level of fitness, flexibility and ability. You will passively perform yoga poses with a great deal of support from props like blankets and blocks. Emphasizing on the release of tension rather than forcing a stretch to bring a deep release to your muscles surrounding your spine.
Reduce tension and find total mind and body relaxation. . . Bliss!

Hot Yoga
& Hot Power Fusion

Temperatures from 95*-105* and high humidity increases blood flow to the skin for sweating which raises your heart rate, core temperature and flexibility. 
Traditional "Hot Yoga" will closely resemble the original "Bikram Hot Yoga" series of 26 very specific poses and breathing exercises.  The Bikram theory says it is possible to work every muscle, tendon, joint, ligament, internal organ and gland while sending extra oxygen to your whole body.

"Hot Power Fusion" is a combination of Power Vinyasa yoga and the 26 postures of the traditional Hot Yoga series with abdominal exercises and high energy poses.
